I firmly believe that for change to take place, we need to help one another. If we want women to move forward in the work place, to be kinder to other women, to treat each other with dignity, respect, and encouragement – then change starts with us. I believe in the power of community and the power of helping your neighbor.
I started my business, MalamaDoe – A Coworking Community for Women, to help women help other women develop professionally. By fostering a welcoming and supportive community, we can foster connections from women to women. With the resulting synergies, we build community, help society, and flourish. I see it happen every single day.
For my business grow so that we can continue to help women, I need to voice that women matter. That women should be supported, cheered on and celebrated.
Supporting the growth of my business is a micro lending initiative called crowdfunding. With crowdfunding, everyone in loans a little bit.
Kiva is the first and largest micro-lending service in the world that has distributed $1 billion over 10 years, in 86 different countries, among 1.5 million small businesses. It is a cool thing to be a part of! You can even give Kiva credit to someone for a Holiday gift!
MalamaDoe is crowdfunding a 0% interest loan on Kiva. If my full amount is raised, the loan will be dispersed on PayPal, as well as automatically deducted from the same PayPal account monthly to the lenders. As 98% of Kiva loans are repaid, it is an easy way to help grow a community of working women.
So please make a statement about how supporting women matters and lend as little as $25 (which you will get back!) for my Kiva loan.
The funds from this loan will go towards infrastructure of a laptop, whiteboard paint, electrical outlets, tables, printer and advertising more role models to speak to the community.
Please follow this link to my profile page, where you will learn more about my business (I had to make a video) and you can sign up for the loan. Following this link is the only way your loan will be tracked as coming through me.
Thanks for your support, I am honestly so grateful!
