Today is a BIG day for professional women on the Northshore!
Today, the goal of connecting women who work in business in a physical location is one step closer to being realized!
Today, I signed the lease for a coworking space geared towards professional women so they can connect, build their businesses, and help one another along the way.
Today, FOUR people signed on to join our physical community at 4465 N. Oakland in Shorewood. The buzz is growing already!
I’m filled with excitement and gratitude in reaching this milestone.
There are so many people to thank and more recognition to come, but to start, I have to publicly thank Carey Mueller Vollmers for believing in me to invest in me financially and intellectually – sometimes you really just need a push to get going!
Thanks also to Julie Knox for working alongside me, keeping a focus on the strategy and supporting analysis. She has been able to document tons of conversations with oh so many people that go all over the place – and then consolidating them into amazing documents and going above and beyond that by researching and adding to every idea to make it better – without ever being asked.
What’s Next?
I am first reaching out to those of you who have been on this journey with me to gather your input as we finalize the color scheme, the layout, the culture, and most importantly the name (Business Mommas is SO temporary).
The space and the culture needs to be tailored to this community of fantastic professional women. Julie Knox and I will be reaching out to you all to better understand this market. These are not intended as sales calls, but rather how such a space meshes with your unique professional needs. This feedback is key to ensure that the layouts match. We look forward to hearing your perspective in terms of:
1) space as a full-time telecommuter
2) space for a few hours a day, M-F or nights and weekends
3) conference room space
4) no space needs right now but maybe in future
5) another type of space/structure that we did not think of
Finally, if you would like to see the space before Tuesday, when we need to finalize the color scheme and layout – let me know and I would love to give you a tour.
Thanks again for all of your support!
